We were delighted to feature on the front cover of this month's 'Building News'.
'Building News' is a HIA publication, and is printed monthly providing all esteemed members of the building, construction and design industry with the latest news, updates and in the case of this month award winners.
In the opening comments HIA President David Linaker congratulated Chateau Architects + Builders on their win.
"The 2013 NSW HIA-CSR Housing Awards were a great success and congratulations to Chateau Architects and Builders for taking out the coveted Home of the Year Award."
Included is this picture of Marcia Hines and Chateau Architect & Builders owners Rod McDonald and Alex McDonald.
Judges comments follow the following write up on page 14:
Chateau Architects & Builders took out the coverted 2013 HIA-CSR Home of the Year Award (partnered by CSR), The Castle Hill company also won the Custom Built Home of the Year (partnered by Shriro Commercial) and the Custom Built Home $1 million - $2 million (partnered by Shiriro Commercial) category for their Wahroonga project.
Of the award winning homes the judges said."This home presents beautifully with the cedar cladding exterior responding superbly in and amongst the surrounding heritage homes. The use of the orange boxed framed window adds an extra dimension to the look of the outside of the project. There were a number of standout features making this an attractive and inviting home such as the warm use of colours, timber flooring, many skylights allowing for lots of natural light, the clever use of joinery around the staircase providing for good storage, as well as space saving shelving for ornaments and other decorative items".
Chateau Architects and builders are looking forward to the national HIA awards in 2014, where their NSW award winning project Wahroonga House has received an automatic entry.
