Sydney based Chateau Architects + Builders are the delighted recipients of the prestigious NSW Master Builders Association’s Excellence in Housing Awards, for ‘Best Design and Construct House in NSW, $1-2 million’.
The Master Builders Association of NSW Excellence in Housing Awards is the highest profile event on the building industry calendar attracting approximately 800 building industry participants.
These Housing Awards are not only highly sort after by every builder and developer in the residential market, but also attract
exceptional exposure to the consumer market through the Sydney Morning Herald’s special supplement.
Chateau’s winning submission was for the custom built and designed Wahroonga House .
Conceived out of the client’s brief for a house that reflected a European modernist architecture, the substantially glazed and cedar-clad home was a standout entry.
It offers an inclusive, open and inviting hub for a maturing family with four children. Its open layout is another key feature,
inviting the surrounding landscape into the home through north and east facing glass doors. When opened, the walls appear to dissolve and the upper level to hover above.
Company Architect Roderick McDonald said that the win meant a great deal to him and Chateau’s team of architects, designers, cost consultants and builders, and that the key to building such a unique home was good collaboration between the design and build team, and the unique style and vision of the client.
Established in 1970, ‘Chateau Architects + Builders ’ is family owned and operated, an alternative to the traditional model of bespoke home creation. Chateau’s architects, cost consultants and builders work collaboratively through every stage of a project’s development, a fully integrated service. With in-house skills and experience across all the building disciplines.
